Meer dan zeventig jaar oud. Een relikwie uit vervlogen tijden. \u00a0Gebouwd in de Parijse fabriek van Meijer. Een vuurspuwend monster, die gemakkelijk de honderd kilometer per uur aantikte. Stayeren met dergelijke\u00a0 motoren,\u00a0 altijd spektakel. Achter de motor van Koch, \u00a0werden tien wereldtitels behaald onder meer door Piet de Wit, Matth\u00e9 Pronk, Leo Proost, Martin Venix, en Theo Verschueren. Het mondiale stayeren is inmiddels exit, met dank aan een handvol corrupte gangmakers. Ook de zware, antieke motoren zijn van de wielerbanen verdwenen, en vervangen door handelsexemplaren. <\/strong><strong>De \u2018Meijers\u2019 staan nu in \u00a0musea, of bij verzamelaars.<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Of dat ook met Koch\u2019s motor gaat gebeuren? Vorig jaar werd deze motor, op veilingsite Catawiki, aangeboden voor een bedrag tussen de 20- en 25.000 euro. Waar vermoedelijk geen kopers voor te vinden waren. Niet geschoten altijd mis, want nu staat de Meijer te koop voor 16.990 euro.
